Autonomous Folklore Studio: Preserving Oral Puranas with Generative AI
How our village studio converts centuries-old Garhwali and Kumaoni Jagars into cinematic anime epics
For over a thousand years, the profound spiritual epics, warrior ballads (Pawada), and village histories of Uttarakhand were never committed to print. They survived exclusively in the memories of hereditary bards known as Jagaris.
Today, as rural youth migrate to urban plains, fewer than 5% of young villagers know the complete ballads of Kaffu Chauhan, Madho Singh, or Rajula Malushahi.
In our village, we asked a radical question: Can the most cutting-edge artificial intelligence on Earth be used to rescue the oldest oral traditions of our ancestors?
We built a custom agentic pipeline running on Google Cloud that transforms oral fragments into broadcast-quality YouTube episodes: cultural context verification, dramatic In-Media-Res hook rewrites, Imagen 3 visual synthesis, and bilingual narration balancing authentic pahadi instruments with modern orchestration.
Our autonomous growth loops continuously evaluate viewer engagement, ensuring that cultural stories reach not just hundreds, but hundreds of thousands of viewers worldwide.
